Don't Turn Your Back.
So many disasters in the world,
what causes these events to unfurl?
Is it the cold heartlessness of a brutal man?
The start of a young girl's tragedy begins with "get in my van."
So many disasters in the world,
what causes these events to unfurl?
Is it the jealousy and selfishness of a bitter woman?
The plot in mind, she's wondering where to begin.
Her husband is severely ill, her only concern is life insurance,
her impatience and lack of heart, results in great endurance.
He lays on the floor dying, she bludgeoned him with a chair,
he cries out in pain, but she's far too vicious to care.
She doesn't fall or stumble, she watches him slowly die,
she calls the paramedics, and creates a horrific lie.
She says she was defending herself against her husband,
little do they know, she put his life to an end.
He was defenseless, and had done no wrong to his love,
he never would have suspected, or even thought of,
the possibility that his spouse could take his life,
but she did, isn't she a wonderful wife?
That little girl who got in the van, lost her youth,
her family is still being haunted by the truth.
She was bound and raped,
she had no chance to escape.
She was tortured, and left for death in a pool of blood,
her killer has no remorse, his heart is just a flood.
She is another victim, along with all of the others,
did he even think of the affect left on the mothers?
So many disasters in this world,
what causes these events to unfurl?
Will it always be a mystery, why is there so much hate?
Will we ever know, or will we only contemplate?
So many of these monsters continue to shape,
another hideous soul, another lost trait.
What is wrong with humanity, why must we commit such acts?
These matters will always be an issue, if we simply turn our backs.
So many disasters in the world,
what causes these events to unfurl?

Don't turn your back. Reminds me of Doctor Who and the Weeping Angels. Don't look away, don't turn your back, and DON'T BLINK.
ANYWAYS....
I loved the poem, truly a beautiful work. The rhyme scheme was nice, but the message... Very powerful. Nuff said.
