A Different Kind of War
You can curse at me,
you can call me rude names,
and sure
they will hurt me,
but I will be strong.
I will stay true.
Tell me anything you want
that makes you feel superior,
but I will stay bold.
I will not stoop to your level
or fight fire with fire;
I will fight fire with kindness.
I will respect you and your wishes
just as you should respect me.
I shall tower high above you
with my maturity.
I will march through this battle,
with my head held high.
No fear
shall stand
in my way.
You may throw your vicious sticks,
and hurdle those mighty stones,
but your names will never damage my spirit.
