The New Amendment (Freedom of Love)
I try to hold my own
and stand steady on shaky grounds
but they taunt and tease me
and they push me down
they don't want me to be happy
they don't want me to be free
even though my life doesn't affect them
they wont control over me
they say i chose to be this way
according to their belief
they say marriage between the same sex is wrong
it's not "Adam and Eve"
They want me to pray it away
like it's some disease
but i embrace ti with every fiber of my being
because that's just me being me
i want to stand up and fight with an army behind me
but the enemy is bigger and stronger
and has control over everything
and the enemy has forces withing
tearing us apart from the outside in
my soldiers need comfort
but their families reject them
Martin Luther king
once had a dream
that every man would have the same rights,
every man would be free
and they shot him down
because he cared for humanity
but now we see how much he pushed to movement along
but i think society needs to be refreshed of that dream
that every man should be equal
that everyone should be free
to love who they want
without insecurity
