October 8
An Indian summer day, today
Sun bright,
Temperature high,
The sky just that particular
Shade of blue.
My thoughts flowed
Molasses-slow,
My body like a lazy river
Patiently going nowhere.
One of those days
When the sunset teaches you
Whole new colors,
Painting the entire width of the sky,
And you're riveted.
All you can do is stare,
And hope in vain
That it will last.
