The Day Her Eyes Turned Red
She gave a cough that she didn’t want to escape
It wretched and her eyes went red and her face caved in
The face broke placidity and out in slight hives
Liquid wrenched forward and engulfed the eyeball, flush with the socket, and itching to run
Cracks came out of her makeup, damning the flawless skin
The day she never wanted arrived, solitude was shared
She was not alone.
