the price i pay
your words trickle down my spine,
crawling through my body,
chewing at my insides.
they squirm their way into my brain, capturing any thoughts I could ever call my own.
your words, they wiggle around my lungs, squeezing away any chance I had of ever breathing again.
and as I fall to the floor, I see you over me, you grin and walk away.
the last words you ever said to me, still echoing in my head,
as you walk out the door.
