Salmon
I lay eager to break out my refuge.
Now a small Alevin I stay Hidden,
In my gravel nest. Im still forbidden,
From the world around me. A great deluge,
Of us now travel to a mass so huge,
I could never explore. Overridden,
The idea of staying. Where is given.
Back home. Making a bear look like a stooge.
My legacy, nothing more than some small,
Eggs. I swim away to a better day,
Falling to the rocks, I enhance the waters,
With my own flesh and blood. But above all,
I have kept the tradition alive.
They will too do it for their sons and daughters.
