Wonderment
Fighting back tears, hunting for words,
Wondering if you’re who I thought you were.
My heart is breaking,
Loneliness smothering me.
Hopelessly working for your attention,
Why, I do not know,
How do you have me under this spell….
I must get away, shelter my heart,
Because I feel as if I might just fall apart.
This once smiling face is now frowning again.
I want to run away, I want to be free.
I’m so trapped by my thoughts,
They’re drowning me…..
