Florals MAG
Let's sew your patches and my patches together in a quilt-
a ten square year quit-
looping hand in hand through the heart of the holiday's,
slowly pulling our thread through birthdays
and reunions of growing family and friends.
It will warm those lost to us a
long, long time ago.
I'll collect the florals.
Come our tenth anniversary,
hard work of dreams and their coming true
will spread the width of watercolor lilacs
and root in the depth of the rose-
petals overlapping,
stems intertwining.
At the fourth corner she'll lie;
a head full of the softest golden hair,
energetic feet with sweet flavored toes.
Her uncoordinated fingers
will pull a single thread loose.
Let's watch her quilt unravel-
an eighty six yearlong thread-
for her to thread her patches into the welcoming fringes of his,
to warm us lost to her
a long, long time ago.
