Clock Work
I hold a magical clock
In the palm of my hands
It ticks promises of a future
It tocks about a forever
It has every aspect planned
I hide the clock under my bed
I leave it confused and alone
I still glance at the time
But I am to afraid to touch it
Because there is another clock I behold
The wood-work appears perfect
The metal shines so bright
I am captivated by its ticks and tocks
And the beautiful rainbows
The glass throws
In the light
I do not know of the magic
This new clock holds
I know not of a future
It does not tell me of forever
It is the unfamiliar
This clock is the unknown
I look back at my old clock
I try to compare
For only one clock is aloud
To tell me the time
To return my stare
But they are both magnificent
Sharing qualities alike
They both appear the better clock
Granting me happiness
Eliminating nastiness
And making me smile
So bright
So here I am
Left to choose
Between two beautiful clocks
But neither one
I want to lose
Ticking sorrow
Tocking remorse
Because only one clock
Can be my time source
