Deal With It
We aren’t always given a second chance
Or a happy ending
Not everything can end in song and dance
And in the end, we all have scars that need mending
You didn’t care
You never did
Love me? You wouldn’t dare
So I hid
I tried,
But you hurt me
I cried,
But you didn’t see
I could see the hate in your eyes
I couldn’t look at you
All I could see was your lies
You ‘preach’ about respect and love
But you’ve clipped my wings
And I feel like an injured dove
You treat me so badly and then wonder why I do these things
I’m not perfect,
Deal with it
As you continue to ignore the pain you inflict
I’ve tried, I’m trying, but you won’t quit
You won’t let me fly, you keep me down
I don’t know what to do when you’re around
Someday I’ll be a best-selling author
And you’ll continue your lies
But just know, you’re not that good and actor
And someday my wings will heal and I’ll rise
I’m done
I’m through with all your crap
I’m going to leave and walk into the sun
I’ve finally found my way out of your deathtrap
I’m not perfect
Deal with it
I’m not the pain addict,
Getting high off of the pain other people get
I was a fool
For a while I thought you knew what you were talking about
But you’re so cruel
I thought you knew what those words meant
Love, respect, family, forgiveness
Every word you say is just another story for you to invent
When I was young I didn’t think things could be like this
You act like you know me
You used to say that you love me
Lies
You say that you treat me fair
You say that you care
More lies
I’m not perfect
Deal with it
I’m done, you can’t treat me like an object
Everyone can see right through your disguise, all your lies, why can’t you admit?
Lies, cries, tears, goodbyes, never again, because some scars you can’t mend…
