The Spider
Well fancy that,
I am tangled in your little lies once again
I take a look around me and I breathe it all in
The sweet smell of sin engulfs me
poisoning my mind and destroying all honesty
But honestly, In a strange sense of the word It feels like home
Because I have long since learned to reside
In the residue of your neatly woven lies
White like ivory
So thin you can barely see
The slightest touch transcends the truth
They feel like silk on my skin
And I cant even begin
To do describe the way they glisten in the morning light
Such effulgence, so bright
And suddenly I am blind
I can’t even see what you’re doing to me but I don’t care.
Toss my troubles in the air
And I know that snow will bury them somewhere
Underneath a fresh coat of white lies
that’s the price you pay when you compromise
You can weave and weave
but just promise me you’ll never leave
I want to ask you one thing.
Would you humor me?
Look into my eyes
Skip the sugar coated white lies
for just a moment
And tell me what you really see
And you told me that you see either breakfast or lunch
Perhaps brunch.
