Teenagers
Teenagers. We’re so naïve, and un-aware.
We think we know it all but our minds are barren and bare.
There’s so little time with so much to do.
We really don’t know, and we don’t want to.
Us teenagers are so “young” and “ill-prepared.”
You say this as if we ever actually cared.
I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, but you are mistaken.
These little girls turning into women, these boys turning into men.
They’re all so far behind what you believe them to be.
We’re longing for help, we need guidance, we just need you to see.
We yell, we scream, the echoes of our voices like a smoking gun.
We’ve lost so much from the stupid things we’ve done.
We might be like Jeckle and Hyde, we might have mood swings.
But let me tell you, we are the loudest voice that sings.
We sing for the broken hearts of teenagers everywhere
This one goes out to us, we’re lost on an island and this is our flare.
We say we want so much, we thrive on companionship.
We need someone to help us get back up and get a grip.
We say we need so much but friends are all that we need
In these times of uncertainty.
