Little Sister
The child skipped
down the sunshine blazed
dirt, country street.
Her flowery blue,
and cloud white
summer dress,
flew behind her,
like her dark brown hair,
tossed in a dark tangled mess.
Bare feet,
skipping on rock,
than leaping into the large,
bright green fields.
She danced and danced,
against the baby blue sky,
and on the hills of serenity,
“Why?” I wonder.
“Why did we ever lie?”
Her flowery blue,
her dark brown hair
tangled and gone in a mess of clouds and care
Death of innocence, taking her away.
I ran for her heart,
Uncertainty,
seeming to start.
A hand I’m always willing to lend,
as much vanity I can hold,
it wouldn’t matter,
When it comes to little sister.
