His Eyes
I see something in his eyes that I have only seen once before. I'm looking at him from across the room. I can see you, I don't believe you can see me. Your eyes meet mine. My heart stops. I breathe quickly, it's just something in your eyes leads him to my thoughts. It takes me back to a memory. There we were riding in his pickup. Not a care in the world, just being us. Lost in the moment and so was I. My friend grabs my shoulder. I jump and grab my breath. Slowly coming back to reality. I look up, searching the room to find those strangers eyes once again. But they were gone. Lost just as quickly as my flashback, those eyes were gone. Even though it caused a quick but sharp pain in my heart to go back to that moment, it was nice to see you again.
