Big Al
Big Al
You never were the mean old man down the street
You were the old man that handed out large candy bars on Halloween
You never had a single enemy
Everyone around you wanted to be your best friend
Always joking around and playing tricks on us
I could have sworn you were a kid just like me
Your heart was as tall as you at 6 foot 4
Always watching a boxing match and talking about the war
The one you fought in back when you were around my age
You amazed us with everything you did
A whole wall was dedicated to you and your accomplishments
Always making a toast during family dinners
Being the first one to crack a joke and have smile to match it
You and your style simply couldn’t be replaced
When you passed away, you left many friends and family behind
A wife to sleep alone at night
And grand kids to grow up and go off to their future
Although there is emptiness every time our family’s meet
You some how kept us closer than ever
So thank you, this toast is for you
Big Al
