In The Home of God
I see light dancing through vast windows,
casting a warm glow across wooden pews.
I see Mary cradling the Christ child,
her arms wrapped gently around his small body.
I see Jesus preaching to his disciples,
inspired by the radiant spirit of His Father.
I see an archangel in a ray of sunshine,
protecting the altar with its magical brilliance.
I see one, then two, then three sinners
shuffling in to their holy home, in search of salvation.
I see the wishes of townsfolk
gracefully ascending to the heavens.
I see a church, tall, noble, and wondrous,
the pews lined up like children facing their teacher.
I see an altar with its white draperies and candles,
with its chalices and platters.
I see the home of God.
