Dreaming For Humanity
Because it seems simple enough,
But I must be mistaken,
I’m just locked in a child’s dream,
Where the sky is blue,
The clouds are white and puffy,
The sun is bright and shiny,
The grass is green,
The birds are chirping,
It’s a happy scene,
The people in this place you ask?
Well they’re happy,
Kind and caring,
They help each other,
They don’t judge,
They don’t spread hate,
Or misunderstanding,
They take the time to learn,
And think before speaking,
But this is a dream,
A fictional place,
It’s not really real,
It’s just this child’s dream,
But I can’t shake this though,
Didn’t all the changes that shaped our world,
Start as a dream?
Martin Luther King, Jr,
Gandhi,
And so many others,
The movements they made,
Had to start somewhere,
It started as a dream,
They saw what they didn’t like,
And started dreaming of a way to make it better,
Their dreams became so powerful,
That others began sharing in that dream,
That’s when it stopped being a dream and became change,
So maybe dreaming isn’t so bad,
Maybe it’s not something only done by a child,
Maybe it’s not some mistake,
Change has to start somewhere,
And dreaming seems to be the way.
