Wishing To Thank You
It was on a Monday night
I ordered my food and got in line to pay
But realized I had forgotten my wallet
A really kind girl behind me
Someone I had never met before
Bought my entire meal for me
Out of the kindness of her heart
I don’t know who she was
Or even her name
But she did me a huge favor
And made my night
Feeling embarrassed from my mistake
I simply thanked her
I didn’t think to ask for her phone number to return the favor sometime
Everything happened too fast
But speaking directly from my heart
Without using any fancy metaphors, similes, or vocabulary
I just want to say thank you
Thank you so much
You are truly one of the last kindhearted people left in the world
