Welcome Home
Where do I turn when you’re gone?
Because I know where you’ve been,
The little façade is tearing,
Your excuses wearing thin;
All the times you swore you loved me,
When you tucked me into bed,
Scaring off all of the demons,
That were screaming in my head;
But, oh, if only I had known,
That your words were untrue,
But I was young and far too naïve,
So I foolishly believed you;
If there’s one thing that’s certain,
It’s that I’ll never really know,
Exactly why you stood by my side,
All the times I cried alone;
For well over twenty one years,
And the sixteen of my own,
You were there, you stayed,
In this Hell we played, home;
