Sand Castles
We live in a castle of sand by the sea
That we built for ourselves safe on the shore
Standing in defiant bliss, my sister and me
Against the imminent ocean to which we pay no heed
The ocean that will someday some to engulf our tower
And tuck it away, with the others it has stolen
But in this hopeful sunrise hour
That is too far away to conceive
So the sea is just a horizon to gaze upon
