“Will you go out with me?”

Why?
Why me?
It’s almost the end of school,
Two minutes earlier leaving biology
And I won’t be here
With this boy.
And his hopeful face,
So egger.
I see the kindness in his eyes,
But the fear too.
I see the disappointment
Of past “relationships”
But not now.
Now he will try again,
Throwing himself once more
Into the fray.
He looks to me,
As if expecting
An answer,
As if I can answer when the world
Is spinning around me.
As if I can see
When my eyes have gone
Blurry with furry.
Why does he even want to do this?
Why?
One date,
Two dates,
Maybe four.
Broken hearts
And broken promises.

Holding hands
And maybe kissing.
Broken hearts
And stabbed backs.

Joyfulness and sadness
All rolled into one,
As if trying to fix us
And break us
At the same time.

Break us

“Yes.”

This was inspired by failure and the fear of trying again, hoping to get it right.

Wow! This is great, and totally accurate. Your a really good writer. Hey, could you possibly look at my story? It's called The Story of the Demons. It would be great if you could :)
