This place called life
We all get lost in this place called life
We all get lost in that child like way
In some time or another
We will fall into place existing
Only in those who see us
We all grow up eventually
We all fall into the slum of adult hood
In a part of our life
Wishing we could be five
Splashing mom and dad in the tub
Wishing we could be seven to start first grade
So we could go back and finger paint
Wishing to be nine
so we can have our first away from home sleep over
We are now in high school
Worried about the thoughts of others
Crafted by society and listening to what they all want
We all care about the way we look
The clothes we wear
The people we hang out with
Now were seniors realizing
None of that ever mattered
Our friends didn’t care what we wore
Our grades didn’t depend on style
Our lives are now changing
Dear mom you were right
Can I be four wishing for a pony
Or making apple pie
In the small kitchen
While singing the bakers man
So please can we stay dreaming
Where I can be any age and not face
Graduation?
Mom take my hand and let me stand
We all end up in the same place eventually
In this place we call life
For Grown ups!
