Coals
He was bound for a small town in Virginia.
The pain of losing him is like an ongoing fire in my mind.
Not a wild fire, just subtle in a fireplace ignited by grief.
The thought of him is the touch of the fire, sharp and painful.
I cry as a fire extinguisher, and slowly the burning sensation subsides.
Crying cannot seize the fire,
It can only continue to burn peacefully, deep into my soul.
