"friend"
What do you think “friend” means?
When I think of it, I see your face…
Or at least I used to.
Now, I see no one.
You changed, into a monster.
There is nothing I can do
Yet I would change everything.
No-
Not everything.
I wouldn’t change meeting you.
I wouldn’t change all the good times.
But the new stuff,
The stuff that makes me cry
The stuff that causes me pain
The stuff that I wish didn’t hurt.
You are gone.
The you I loved,
Now, there is someone in her place.
I do not know this person
And she doesn’t know me.
She doesn’t see me.
Best friend, you went away,
No, not literally,
I see you every day,
And you look through me.
It would be easier if you were gone,
But you are here.
Taunting me,
With what used to be.
I have tried,
But nothing.
All I can do is ask:
What do you think “friend” means?
