Identity of the Innocent
Everyday my demons are throwing temptation in my face.
There’s a ferocious beast living in the chambers of my soul.
Darkness overpowers my mind, poisoning it with cruelty and anger;
Leaving no trace of pity.
Just beneath my skin, pain and discrimination runs throughout my veins.
My soul empty, heart cold, eyes grey, voice shaking, pride breaking lose.
How can I save myself if I don’t know what I’m saving myself from?
This unknown creature has no mercy, no sympathy for its victims.
Frightening, strong, and mighty, it does not stop itself in its footsteps
But instead travels on a never-ending journey to take away the identity
Of the innocent.
