Letters for a President
Dear nation of America
I cannot take a walk
With anyone
I cannot see the homeless
I do not pray
I do not look in mirrors because
I am not proud
I cannot sleep so I cannot dream
My head is held high so I don’t crawl
I cannot look you in the eye
For the shame I feel is too high
I say no child left behind
Because I want to see you all fall
What hike of father you ask?
I say THIS kind of father
I am the father
No I cannot take a walk with you
No I cannot look you in the eye
