Safe in Heaven
That day, when my dog died, I asked my daddy, Will he go to Heaven? He told me, Yes, because everything good goes to Heaven and your dog certainly was good. And as we shoveled the dirt onto his small body, I was content to know that my little dog was safe in Heaven.
The next year, when the cat died, my brother asked me, Will he go to Heaven? I told him, Yes, because everything good goes to Heaven and our cat certainly was good. And as he shoveled the dirt onto his small body, he was content to know that our cat was safe in Heaven.
A year later my brother died. I asked myself, through broken sobs, Will he go to Heaven? And a voice told me, Yes, because everything good goes to Heaven and your brother certainly was the best. And as I watched his four-year-old body be laid to rest, I was content to know that my brother was safe in Heaven.
