Thanks for everything and nothing
I still remember the warmth of your body as it pressed to mine
Everything that I had hoped for had been all for you
Everyday I would smile
Just because you told me my smile was worth more than anything in the world.
So, what happened?
I remember the times you made me laugh
the times you made me nervous
the times you made me feel like I was the only person you ever loved.
But mostly I remember the times you made me cry.
Where were you when I poured my heart out?
I told you everything.
I really thought you could be mine
I truly thought I meant something to you as you did to me.
How wrong I was...
Excuse me for sounding bitter,
I am forever grateful for having the experience your heartbreak gave me
You made me realized that I don't need someone like you
To make me happy.
I'm perfectly capable of being me without you.
But thank you for everything.
Thank you for giving me a hope to hold on to
Thank you for letting me experience a real heartbreak
Thank you for everything
but also
Thank you for nothing
