Forbidden Fruit
She roared in like the wind of a storm,
Riding past them on chariots of fire,
And stole their breath with her false charm,
Knowing they were slaves to their own desire
So long as they thirsted, they’d be supplied,
With an endless stream,
Their hearts were built upon her lies,
False promises and dreams
Eyes made of crystal, lips made of deceit,
An attractive proposition, though bittersweet,
She’d fooled them all and proved the wiser,
As they began to see that nothing could satisfy her
The taste lingered there on the tips of their tongues,
Until the hunger pangs drove them forth,
She held the threads of their lives between her thumbs,
Convincing them that they needed more
Wild beasts, those men became,
Lighting an evil flame within their hearts
By which point, it wasn't to be tamed
As it tore their souls apart
Only death could save them,
With minds that reeked of putrid sin,
She let them fall from her hands and carried on,
From whence she came; somewhere in the wind
