Brown Eyes
Brown eyes,
why must you follow me
Your pools of murky water
glisten in the shadows
Brown eyes....
Don't run away from me
Follow me until the sun don't shine any longer
Brown eyes,
hold me, until the moon is high in the sky
Why must you have brown eyes?
You stare right through me with those
damn brown eyes
I was lonely
you were lonely
I was happy
you were sad
We made love
and then you kissed me
love is a powerful word but with those brown eyes i believed you
A baby grew; inside my womb
you weren't there
I wasn't ready to be alone again
'
So i trapped you
We shared that bottle of gin
I watched as your brown eyes faded into black
Now you don't have brown eyes
Just blood shot murky black
I took that gin and then i fell; into your arms
those brown eyes peaceful
We fell into each other
stole from one another
But baby i wish your brown eyes were blue
