they claw at my soul
they tear me down
my body goes numb, to the point of no words
just tears as hot as the sun
your letting me fall
i try to climb to grab hold of your heart
all i get is air full of silence
my body goes weak
i fall, so hard, so fast
i have no time to reach for you
it hurts - these thorns they scratch my skin leaving scars for all to see
welts the size of my heart
yet so much pain you bring me
i still find heart to yell
"i love you"
the moment will come
when i land on my heart
and end this suffering
