What a glorious enterprise slavery is,
through its transcendent actions
and strict castigations.
The protesting voices of the colored ones,
awakening the ears of the indifferent;
to start a morning
of sanctimoniousness.

It transforms a scrawny boy
with withered skin
into a robust man of discipline.
Oh yes slavery is truly great,
bringing large profits to poor farmers,
painting smirks on white women’s faces
who don’t have to lift a finger,
for anything.

Slavery teaches women and children
how to be enduring, as they are forced
to wait for a battered man to perhaps,
come home.
Slavery brings excitement to
an otherwise dull world,
through doltish riots and insurrections,
while adding trees to
history.

It recognizes the shipping industry
for its hard work and perseverance,
reinventing its identity
as a worldwide necessity.
Slavery teaches people of all colors
first-hand knowledge
to the many levels of society.

Yes, slavery makes all of these wonders happen.
Yet, never receives any sign of appreciation,
no mention of acclimation,
ever.

I was inspired to create a poem that challenged the common thoughts of society, and thus brought forth a new point of view on one of the most serious as well as appalling times in history.

it's a very ironic poem, for of course, slavery is a terrible thing. But yeah, I was just trying to say how nobody recgonizes its good side (of course, there is no good side)

I think people forget that humans are animals too.

With the ending, are you trying to say "why doesn't it?" or trying to say "we do not recognize it due to the fact we try to hide ourselves from the cruel reality of our actions" ?
Or am I just wrong? :P
