Discover Assailant
I have been--too cowardly
Too direct
Ignorant and backward
Too--...stupid
However did this come upon me?
Not love, or a first impression
Nor a rush of blood to the head
But a Fatal Misjudgment
I was not wavering between right and wrong
Nor the mildest of my mistakes
It is shadowy, and evil
Personified in nature,
Extraordinary in complexity
He, the bloody assailant,
Of love
Tearing my flesh apart
Revealing his cold and coarse claws of ferocity
Unleashing, from the inside out
With a dagger tipped with pungent searching acid
Poisoning my mind, and soul
With an air of dignity
I yield and bow down to this assailant
Even if it kills me
