Silent Is the Dark
I'm only pretending.
Lightning flashes outside the window with the curtains drawn.
I'm not what you think. I'm not what you think.
What do you think?
I'm not what you want.
What do you want?
What do you want me to say?
Because I won't say it. I can't say it.
Lightning flashes behind your curtains.
Open the curtains to a flash of light.
I'm not scared of the dark.
I'm scared that, when illuminated,
I'll finally see where I've been all my life.
The light has too much to say.
The dark is quiet.
I draw the curtains a little tighter.
I'm only pretending.
