Freedom
Once I was drowning in shame and regret
Once I was suffocating in endless depths of darkness
Once I was collapsing under the pressure of my past mistakes
Now I am able to breathe the breath of life
Once I was stabbed with never-ending whispers of my failures
Once I was shot down with lies and hatred
Once I was blinded by overwhelming guilt
Now I am protected under the wings of eagles
Once I was homeless searching for a home
Once I was starving looking for satisfaction
Once I was naked seeking warmth and protection
Now I am content and satisfied
Once I was a hostage of sin and death
Once I was tortured by bloody hands
Once I was chained, bound, afraid, and alone
Now I am free
