Foundations
Relationships built on lies
Never seem to last
You can't wait 'til each on dies
Lies burn everything
Straight to the ground
Only the foundation is everlasting
Just waiting to be found
To be built up again
I've been looking for them
Every now and then
Flowers on a stem
Petals fly through the air
Carried by a wish
To make things fair
Passing by a shimmering fish
That sticks out of the river
He has traveled far
But not much farther
Than you and I, on black tar
Running to find our foundation.
