There are Those Times
There are those times;
I wonder some whys,
as to where those habits come at the corner of your eyes?
Who left themselves upon your face?
What night gave your hands the lines I now trace?
Would you need to practice that smile you now show me,
To hide the lines I’ve yet to see,
Yet the whys never answer.
The corners of your body become a mystery
And every love you’ve had will always elude me
As the sands build up
And volcanoes erupt
And the sea ebbs and flows
And all things green grow
And trees bolt with wind
And you smile to mend
All feeling to smother
Such tumultuous weather
And in such a stance
I’d call this a romance
Yet the whys never answer.
I’ve wonder some whys
as to how you came about
The width of your eyes
as your face begins to pout
But there seems some hows and whys I’ll never meet.
When tickling your feet you seem to treat me with greats
Of lines forming at your smile
Making this time worth while
But with the wills of tomorrow’s why’s
And how your hurts gave you such sighs
Or if tomorrow will give you a sway
Or if another man may someday
Wonder a why just as I have today
