She waited that night
By the setting sun
Unsure what to come
Her future
Unclear
He stood that night
From far away
Thoughts pace
His mind
Afraid
The moon came out
Stars shimmered bright
Ending the day
They ran
Home
She sat that morning
As the phone rang
In an outrage
Her ignorance
Seemed bliss
He waited that morning
Tried to explain
Just as nervous
His rejection
Did sting
If only
It wasn't
A day too long
How this ending
Would change
But sadly
It has to be
A day too long
For people
Like Her and He
