That Summer
In the Summer it took longer for the sun to leave
Maybe that's why it seemed easier to breathe
A sigh and a smile
Everything slides
Dreams always seemed to last longer
Even during the day
When the sun bleached hair blonder
And it seemed we grew stronger
Many things change
Throughout the long summer days
All the things set to make
Are things that simply never will be made
Many things have changed
You see, walking on through the rain
I slow to walk along with it
I know you have to accept every bit
To gain anything at all
But that was in the past
I realize now, not everything lasts
