I remember.
I remember the day when you knocked on my door,
A single tear trailing down your face. I didn't know what to say so i hugged you tight, and listened to your steady heart beat...
Only three phrases left those pink and soft lips,
"Don't stop, don't leave, don't forget." As a young boy i was a fool and utterly confused, And I listened to your steady heartbeat... Looking for a clue.
I remember the last time i saw you,
Your face was stricken with pain. Your family crying. Yet i the boy next door did nothing. And i listened for your steady heart beat...but nothing could be heard.
