It's Time To Say Goodbye
It’s time to say goodbye
Instead of plunging forward like you thought you would
You hesitate and hold your breath
You start drowning in the tears
You told yourself you wouldn’t cry
With smiles they all take a step
And still you hold back
Pain surges through your body
Blocking off your throat
And clenching your chest so tight
That it becomes hard to breathe
What is truly a goodbye? You think
Will I no longer see any of them? You wonder
It becomes crippling
You think that your legs will fall from under you
And your façade is quickly being blown away
You no longer want to hold onto it
You want to reach out and grasp lost time
You don’t want to just remember but to live, again
But when you reach, you come back empty
They turn around and wave
You wave and turn away
