Sometimes I wish...

Sometimes I wish I could write a poem:
One that makes eyes soar,
Ears twinkle,
And love burn.
Sometimes I wish I could have words:
That flow from me like the rain washing over everyone near me
Cleaning their problems away,
Drenching them in solutions.
Sometimes I wish I could speak the world to my mind:
feelings would suddenly make sense.
But I’m shut up inside,
Like a bird that can’t fly,
Left with my wordless poems,
And eyes that won’t shine,
To lie here in this puddle alone.
