Escape
The pretense of dreams is unknown,
but it seems as if our sub consciousness
likes to tease us with our hopes,
our dreams.
It likes to scare us,
with what has passed
and what has yet to come.
The thoughts and pictures that are closed
locked away,
in the darkest corner of your mind
are let loose,
free to run through your dreams
teasing you,
taunting you.
You feel as if something was stolen,
taken from you when you had awoken
from the pictures and sounds.
Somehow,
you can almost hear a devious giggle,
while that dream,
that life,
is swept away,
just out of your reach.
The quiet desperation,
is caged,
trying to find it.
The yearning,
to dream the same dream,
to remember the people,
the faces that stared in it.
But alas,
the dreams slip away
to be locked in its place,
until you escape to the land of dreams,
of hope.
