\"Trust yourself, you know more than you think\" -Spock

One lone curtain holds the stage
In a cascade embrace, red velvet shades
Holding its lungs, its tumbling breaths
Still as a moment hinting to death
A scarlet stained sunrise forebodes the start
The clouds an impression, the most deadly art
And there he appears
As the soloist
he must be here

The procession is a short one
The engagement a blink of the eye
They're committed for by a moment
A love saturated in wine
A tragic duet, two bodies entwined
Swaying in their quick steps
It is seduction where they are completely blind
Their world had nothing left

It is a performance at best
But it is where they may meet
Forbidden lovers, cradled by thorns
Lines behind their feet
They unite where shadows form thick
A foreboding so quick to predict
It's that danger we all fantasize
A love that can't be nixed

But as the covers must be closed
The fermata fades away
It mixes in with the starless night
Crushes never stay
The seats are filed empty
Leaving one, left to his own
Amidst the scarlet shadows
The soloist stands alone

Something I wrote a year ago. I really liked this poem when I wrote it, it was like a symbol for most of my relationships back then, at least what I thought of them.

Wow. Powerful writing. Almost a hushed tone. I like the analogy. Interesting choice. I loved the ending too. Great, great work. Would you please comment on my poems titled Love in the Soul of Humanity and On my Back Porch?
