Your Little Flame
It was when I first saw you
I think I saw the little flame
The small spark of heat that soon became
Everything to me
The little flame that I saw in your eyes
In your heart
Its embers dwelling in the depths of your soul
Could you see my little flame?
It was burning too
How much more bright or searing I do not know
For only another flame can see mine
I was hoping it’d be you
It was when I first heard your voice
I think I felt the heat
Blushing my cheeks and warming my hands
Your flame ever so close to me
Making me laugh uncontrollably
Tremble only a little
But smile all the same
Could you feel my flame?
It was burning too
How much more bright or searing I do not know
For only another flame can see mine
I was hoping it’d be you
It was when I first held your hand
I think I knew the little flame
From inside and out
I don’t know who to blame
Be it fate
Or something else
I know that my flame went out
And now I can’t stop thinking about you
And your little flame
I’m hoping yours went out too
Simply because
I Love You
