Jordan
When I met you,
you were lost,
and howling at the moon.
You held you place as nothing
in the land of judgement.
I stereotyped you
along with the crowd,
for I didn't think someone like you would
understand someone like me.
But you showed me
that I was much too wrong.
You held my hand that summer,
because I couldn't get through my head.
You told me I would be okay
and to smile though I was sad.
Then October hit us hard
with February dreams.
I thought I'd made a difference,
that I put more light in your eyes.
The end of December hit us harder,
and I learned it wasn't true.
That winter a witch tore us like paper,
and took me away from you.
But it's summer again,
and my wounds are healed.
I found a boy who cares.
But I promise,
I'll never forget us dancing
on an October night. . .
