Supernova
What does tomorrow hold,
with all that's left to discover?
As we dream in hotel rooms,
do we consider the risks?
The dark side of the human genome,
a toxic corruption,
a supernova in a warhead,
destroys a village in Sudan,
and yet we dare dream
such caustic dreams?
The trapping light
of a nitrogen bomb
sends embers to the heavens
and burns the fragile cornucopia,
until all that is left,
is our ghostly apparitions.
Yet this power of the stars,
this trapping light,
our hazy tomorrow,
is given to one man.
Can you hear me now?
Nobody can save us
from our own supernova.
