Foundation Cracks
It is hard to fathom
The kind of hatred that could exist
Almost solely amongst two people
Who cannot between them
Find mutual respect
First come the hysterical footprints
The rude remarks
The labels and names
Both persons mutually disregarding
The barriers between them
Set codes of honor
Societal expectations
First one utters an unthinkable phrase
The other retaliating effortlessly
Amongst the fighting
Brews a distaste
Seldom can we bear
To look each other in the face
As our discontent grows
We watch the rift appear
With our own eyes
We see our words shed
Strands of faith
Hopeless faith
