Yearnings
Take me with the wind,
Wrap my hands in soft muslin
sink down to my chin, cry me to sleep
carry my pain along with my smile
Send it down the river, don’t look back
the road not taken, frostily.
I’m not looking for a label, a relationship status,
I’m yearning for something more ambitious
something deep inside
I want to catch snowflakes on my tongue with you,
Let them melt into my lungs, my embrace is for yours to capture
I want to close my eyes and listen to you sing,
And trace your outline in my deepest dreams
I want to laugh like I have reason to
Because you’re more reason than enough
I want to look off into the distance
and confess to you my shattered hopes and nothings
Give me the ability to read through your eyes
I will search the four corners of an Earth quite round
cryptically craving your careful caress
Give me that which I have yet to discover,
give me pain, give me sorrow
give me love like no tomorrow
Hand me over, palm to finger,
stealthily sigh
melancholy will blanket me once more,
For he who should be reading this is
yet to be explored
